Habitat as a whole
Research the species’ housing, shelter, substrate and environmental requirements as a connected plan. A kit marketed for geckos may refer to a different species.
Lighting and measurement
Read the species-specific lighting and heating directions and the equipment’s placement requirements. Record which locations and instruments are used to assess the plan; an unexplained thermometer number is incomplete.
Diet and supplements
Research food, food preparation and supplementation through the species guidance and a suitable vet. Do not select a supplement dose from a shopping category or assume another lizard’s routine applies.
Observation without disturbance
Agree appropriate observation and handling routines from the care source. Keep dated notes if something changes, and seek veterinary guidance for concerns rather than trying home treatments from a generic article.
